ChuChu Rocket
---------------------

This is a remake of the game ChuChu Rocket by Sonic Team, which was released
first on the Sega Dreamcast, and later on the Gameboy Advance.

The aim of the game is to guide mice (chuchus) into your rocket, while keeping out
cats (kapukapus). The mice and cats are very dumb and behave in a simple manner.
They will always move forwards in a straight line, unless something forces them to
do otherwise. They can be forced to turn by one of two things.

1) A wall blocking the path
2) An arrow placed by one of the players

If a mouse/cat hits a wall it will try turning right. If this route is also blocked, it then
tries turning left. If this too is blocked then this is a dead end, and the mouse/cat
will turn back on itself.

In the case of a mouse/cat stepping onto an arrow, it immediately turns in the direction
indicated by the arrow. It will then go in that direction unless the arrow is pointing
straight at a wall, in which case it will follow the wall checking routine (see above), to
decide on a new direction to take.

If mice get too close to cats, they are 'eaten' and cease to be. Many boards also
have 'holes', which result in the death of any mice or cats walking into them. As
mentioned above the animals are pretty dumb, and will blithely rush to their deaths
unless you do something to prevent this.

Normally the board which makes up the chuchu world is surrounded by walls on all
four sides, but if an edge piece is missing, the mouse/cat will leave the board, only to
re-emerge on the opposite side.

Controls - Placing Arrows
---------------------------------
You place arrows on the board by moving your pointer around with the mouse, and
placing them with the (W,A,S,D) keys, depending on the direction of arrow you want.
You can place arrows on any square except those containing rockets, holes, generators
or other arrows. After 10 seconds arrows will shimmer and finally vanish (except in
puzzle mode).

Note - If a cat hits an arrow head on, the arrow will be damaged (and shrink in size). If
a cat then hits the arrow head on again it will destroy the arrow completely. For this
reason it's often more effective to place arrows at 90 degrees to the cat's direction.

Options
----------
From the main menu screen you can select Options.
Options are only effective in certain game modes.

* Round Time Length of a Round (Versus, Team)
* Animal Speed	Speed of mice and cats	(Versus, Team, Survival)
* Rate of ? Mice	Rate of event mice (Versus, Team, Survival)
* Arrow Reset	Can you overwrite your arrows	(All modes)

Game Modes
-----------------
There are several different modes of play.

1) Versus Mode
--------------------
In this mode there are four rockets (blue, red, green and yellow), which are competing
with each other. On each board there are 4 'animal generators', which randomly spew
out cats and mice. In this mode, a cat entering your rocket will cause you to lose 33%
of the points you had.

This is the only mode to have 'special' mice. These come in two forms.
1) 'Fifty' Mice
2) 'Event' Mice

'Fifty' mice will earn you 50 points if you can capture them (ordinary mice are worth
only one point).

'Event' mice will trigger a random event when captured, which may be to the capturer's
advantage, or may not be. The possible events are as follows.

1) Mouse Mania - The number of mice being generated increases
			- Cats are no longer generated
			- Lasts for 10 seconds

2) Cat Mania - More cats are generated than normal
			- Mice are no longer generated
			- Lasts for 10 seconds

3) Place Arrow Again	- All arrows currently on the board are removed
			- The mice and cats are frozen
			- You have 2 seconds to place new arrows

4) Everybody Move - The positions of the 4 rockets are shuffled

5) Mouse Monopoly - The recipient of the event mouse gets a bonanza

6) Cat Attack - All except the event mouse recipient are damaged

7) Speed Up - The mice and cats speed up

8) Slow Down - The mice and cats slow down

Whenever an event is triggered, the 'event wheel' appears and where it stops indicates
which event will occur.

Once the time limit is up, whoever has the most points in their rocket is declared the
winner of the round. Play moves to the next board, and continues until one player
has achieved the required number of round wins. Whoever achieves this has won
the contest.

As it stands, this mode is 1 human player against (1-3) cpu players. It could work as
a true 4 player game over a network (the Dreamcast game was one of the first online
console games). I don't want to get mired in network coding myself, but I imagine
this would be relatively easy to implement as a network game for someone with the
knowledge (no collision detection issues to worry about).

2) Stage Mode
------------------
In this mode you have to satisfy various conditions to complete each stage within
the time limit. The different types of stages you can encounter are as follows.

1) Get Mice	- Lead the mice to the goal. There are no cats in these stages.
2) Run Away	- Lead the mice to the goal. Don't let them be eaten.
3) Lunch Time	- Feed the cat with all the mice on the board.
4) 100 Mice	- Generators are present. Get 100 mice into your base.
5) Cat Soccer	- 2 Teams. Lead 20 cats to your opponents goal.
6) Domination	- 2 Teams. Like Versus Mode. Win by 100 points.

Whenever you complete a stage you will immediately be challenged with the next.

3) Puzzle Mode
--------------------
There are 100 puzzles to pit your wits against. In this mode you are given a limited
selection of arrows to place, and the mice/cats don't move until you tell them too.
There are no reactions needed for this mode, it's all about working out how to
place the arrows so that the mice will be saved.

4) Survival Mode
----------------------
This is a new mode with different rules.
It re-uses the maps from versus mode, but the rules are different.

Player 1 (you) starts with 100 points, and all the others start with 50.
Everyone loses points rapidly as time passes, and can only replenish them by collecting mice.
If an opponent's score falls to zero their base explodes, and is reset.
You are then credited with a survival, and your score increases by 15 points.

The game ends when your own score falls to zero.
At this point your survival record will be recorded.

The higher the top score, the faster points are cut from everyone (if the top score is above 100).

5) Challenge Mode
------------------------
This is a series of challenges with pre-defined rules, and targets to meet.
If you fail at a challenge then you have to keep attempting it until you succeed.
Once you've succeeded, you will be taken to the next challenge.

There are 10 challenges in total. Once you've completed the last challenge, the
Challenge option on the main menu will be greyed out, and you will no longer
be able to select this mode.

Level Editor
---------------
You can create your own levels in the editor for all types of stage. The components
available differ depending on the type of level you are creating (versus, stage or puzzle).
